Thoughts on 100th episode. (Spoiler FREE)

Don't worry, I won't even speak about the details that was shown in the teasers.

On the 13th, MLP will air its 100th episode, and they will focus on the background characters instead of the main cast!  Finally we get some new character development, new voices, and of course new pony shenanigans we all love.  Also, Hasbro gave the go ahead and gave the writers and animators full reigns on this episode. So who knows what will come out!

Anyways. This episode will obviously be filled with fan service. That makes me both excited, and nervous.  The fandom over the years has developed a lot of character traits for the background characters, and what I've seen from the teasers, they are actually using that!  So a lot of head canons will be fulfilled... and destroyed. While I don't really have a lot of head canons, I also don't like a few that the fandom has made. I guess its a gamble to see what the writers picked for this episode.

Now then. What I hope from this episode.... is new content!  I hope its not just pure fan service, and instead the writers create new ideas for the fandom to use. Example: Let's say Button Smash plays video games again in the episode and hangs with Sweetie Belle. That would be fan service. Now in the next scene they are in a situation that reveals he's afraid of heights. That's new character development that didn't come from the fandom.  So yeah, things like that. It doesn't have to be extreme, but I like to see more sides to these background characters that the fandom hasn't already over developed.
