From being a simple doodle to a complete painting I bring you my first Toothless painting. Not bad. I tried a whole new approach where I did the shading first then added the colors and details. Overall I only had 5 layers. (Oh, and this is before he meets Hiccup. So that's why he can fly without him.)

I simply adore this drawing! The colors and shades are very well blended when it comes to Toothless. The ocean does look a BIT sloppy, but I still love the way it looks. The boats in the distances was a very nice touch, as so was the sun touching the horizon. I love the fainted clouds in the pink, dusty sky! It gives the whole atmosphere of this drawing kind of a serene feel. I noticed that Toothless didn't have his fake fin on his tail, so I am guessing this was based before his encounter with Hiccup? Or possibly a mistake. I'm not sure. C: But either way, I love the detail in this. There is only one more thing I'm not to sure about in this picture, and that would be the extension of his right arm, and the shortness of his left arm. It may be bent or something, and its hardly noticable. I was just curious as to whether it was bent or that was yet another mistake.
Please keep up the good work! I love this drawing in general, and honestly, its one of the most realistic yet cute drawings of Toothless depicted as far as I'm concerned.

This is just very beautiful,I love how you did the detail on Toothless.He looks like he does in the movie.And the water is very pretty to.The grass on the ledge is very realistic, infact this whole seen looks very real!The scene overall is what is the most breath taking,I'm astonish at how well it looks.The boats in the background are what make the ocean not feel empty,and Toothless,his eye's are very nicely and carefully shaded.Most of my attion shoots straight to Toothless.(wich I'm sure thats what you wanted).I hope that I get good enough to draw like this some day,very nicely done!:clap:

He's sooo cute~!
I really like this image. The angle of his body and the ocean and how the land is formed, framing the image. The color is also really well done.
