I decided to do a quick painting on one of my favorite sketches. I should definitely make this an official character! :D Edit: I see some mistakes, haha oops. Well this is just a speed painting so no harm done.

Time: 3 hours
Program: Photoshop CS5

Comments? Critiques? I worked **** improving my speed on coloring and lighting.

First off I have to say excellent use of colors on this one. The only thing that I have to say that could be a problem is that you state this is a Sand dragon but honestly the feeling I get from this painting is that it is more of the sand stone dragon than a sand dragon. I say this is a problem but actually it could lend itself to the picture to make it better than if you strictly tried to make this a sand dragon. Only one suggestion I would make for this painting is trying to make this dragon look more realistic with the shadows, highlights and tones so that it almost has a 3D look to it and then I think you will find that it will be even better than before. Remember this is only a suggestion and I want to say keep up the good work.

When I categorized it as a sand dragon my intention was a literal sand dragon. I pictured this guy to be living in a desert area, so I guess a more proper term would be a desert dragon.

Thanks for the suggestion. Maybe I should take that extra hour on details.
