The painting was a huge hit, so I decided to share a Step By Step. Instead of typing in the words here I decided to include them in the image instead. I hope its helpful, or at least provides an insight into how I approach a painting.

Maybe. I have a feeling it was somewhere else, but this was ages ago. It was probably on EQD or something.

I agree; the rotation looks better. I really like your work and that you make these step-by-steps for everypony. Thanks! [link]

sooo, you do the shading with 3 colors + opacity pressure??? :P

That was just to start off my color pallet. It was only there for a short while and I stopped paying attention to it as I pick out colors that I deem fit. I try to include a lot of different colors than just using pure shades of pink and yellow.

i was talking about what i see on the drawing =P
i see 3 colors, yellow, dark yellow and some pink, and different tones of course. i was mainly wondering if those are the options that you set for your brush, hehehe

Simply marvelous!

I like how you didn't depend on the burn tool as much and emphasized on manual details. Really helps produce a more "authentic" feel in the final work.

I would only use the burn/dodge tool as a post editing tool. Before that I would manually increase the saturation as a traditional artist would.

Thank you, and don't say that, I didn't start off like this at all. Practice and work on areas you have trouble with the most. I do that with every piece I do.

Info - I'm not even good with stick figures, that should give a hint how great I am when it comes to drawing :P
I always adored drawing so I had to find a way where my lack of abilities are not so obvious, that's how I started making non-figurative pictures xD

Anyways I do plan to attend to a drawing course, it's that right side of the brain thingy, probably helps :)

Is that a digital pen or traditional pen? My advice I give to any beginner is to work hard learning how to draw traditionally before hitting digital art hard.

This is in one way very helpful in my skill development, but on the other hand looks impossible to try out myself. This is really well made. The art itself as well as the progession. Did you start out with a larger canvas for the details? It all looks like a pain in the flank to do this all so detailed. Again, really nice piece of art.

In reality Fluttershy took me 2.5 hours to make. So yeah, I started with a large canvas so I have room to put those hair strands in. Also, I don't expect people to follow my method exactly. It isn't possible to mimic a person's style exactly. Instead, I hope people can see that I follow some typical painting methods that helps aid into a final product.

And thanks.
