I was really on the fence when I saw the thing underneath Braeburn. I had to think about it quite a bit (not the thing, lol, but the idea of the thing being in Tsitra's art)
I guess what really irked me quite a bit was the elephant in the room of massive amounts of r34 in the fandom (second only to pokemon IIRC)
So then I thought about it. Perhaps it's just the rule 34 that has really put my mind in a constant rejecting state.
There's nothing lustful or sexual about this picture. If Braeburn was a real cartoon-horse-pony-thing in real life, he's probably look something like this. Whereas r34 is designed to be lustful or sexual or provocative.
So while I'm on the fence still about it, I'm not quite as rejecting. Perhaps I need more time to clean my head of the filth on the r34 side.
It reminds me of this story of a man who had one of the worst jobs of the internet. His job was to filter and respond to reports of innapropriate and illegal content on a website. So all day everyday he has to see the worst of the worst. After a year of doing this he was moved to a different job, but it was mandatory to check in at a psychiatrist.
The psychiatrist holds up a picture, and asks the man what he sees. In response the guy said, "It's a disgusting peophilia picture, it's pitiful!" The pschiatrist shook his head and revealed that the picture is simply a father hugging his son.
